Wingsure, an Insurtech company, uses deep tech to deliver instant access to personalized insurance products and advisories for small farmers and rural communities globally, enabling financial resilience, economic empowerment and sustainability of livelihood. Using AI/ML, augmented reality, multi-modal interactivity and gamification, we are leading a farmer-centered, technology-driven disruption of legacy insurance approaches to automate the entire insurance value chain and  create profitable new products and markets across the agriculture and insurance ecosystem. Wingsure is a spin-out from SRI International (www.sri.com), the birthplace of some of the world's most important research and innovations. CTO - Job Description

We are seeking a visionary CTO with a storied track-record in technology, including executive experience in building tech start-ups to global scale and impact. The candidate should be a leading expert in AI, especially Computer Vision technologies (image processing, deep learning, augmented reality, geospatial imaging etc.) helping Wingsure chart a bold trajectory in this space, and presenting an influential voice to our stakeholders. In line with Wingsure’s mission, an ideal candidate for this role is deeply aware of the daunting challenges facing humanity, believes in the transformative power of technology to address the challenges, and is passionate about leading the change.

You will be responsible for developing a disruptive technology vision aligned with Wingsure’s business goals. You will work with the leadership team to translate the vision to a roadmap and help the company develop strategic differentiators and intellectual property. You will ensure that we are always ahead in technology leadership, time to market, and superior user experience. In short, you will help us anticipate the future, plan for it, and develop the technological leadership needed to outpace it eventually.

You should be an out-of-the-box thinker, a curious self-learner, an effective communicator and a valuable mentor. Wingsure will count on your executive leadership, entrepreneurial spirit, and deep tech-for-good conviction as we strive to mitigate the livelihood risks of small farmers and rural communities globally.

CTO - Responsibilities:

●        Drive technology thought leadership within the organization. Set a vision for how technology will be used in the company and how technology will drive differentiation in our offerings

●       Lead core IP creation in Computer Vision, AI/ML, and Augmented Reality to provide the foundation for impact-oriented products that differentiate the company and help strengthen our core mission.

●       Make executive decisions on behalf of the company's long-term technological investments. Assist the CEO and other leadership executives with strategy, technology decisions, feature road-mapping and with sales.

●       Ensure all technology practices and offerings adhere to local and international regulatory standards

●       Communicate Wingsure's capabilities effectively to the outside world. Stay on top of technology trends, research, and development.

●       Help establish strategic partnerships with organizations that offer complementary technological capabilities to enhance Wingsure's overall value proposition and accelerate our time-to-market

●       Champion the company's strengths and credibility in the major global technology hubs: Silicon Valley, Boston, Israel, etc., in major media channels, and through participation in high-visibility panels and invited talks at conferences

●       Lead by example in creating a high-performing engineering culture within the organization. Act as a mentor to team members and help attract high-quality talents to Wingsure.

CTO - Qualifications:

●       Ph.D./MS in computer science or a related field from a top university

●       6-8 years of experience as a senior technology executive, prior CTO experience is a big plus

●       8-10 years of experience with leading global technology teams and working effectively in cross-cultural environments

●       Advanced technological skill-set including demonstrated leadership in AI/CV/AR, successful track-record in leading the development of complex technological products from inception to impact

●       Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills

●       Ability to delegate efficiently

●       Prior start up experience is a must

●       Prior Insurance-Tech/Ag-Tech domain is a HUGE plus.
