The Mixed Reality Systems Engineering team has an immediate opening for a highly motivated Principal Software Engineering Lead with embedded/wireless experience and experience leading a team of engineers to design, implement and ship high quality software.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a development team of embedded software engineers to delivery high quality software for several cognition products.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to engineers on the team
  • Design and implement drivers in windows and linux
  • Work in close partnership with a team of cross discipline peers including design, hardware, PM, and Quality Engineering for sustained long term success.
  • Help define the next generation of Mixed Reality devices
Requirements

These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • 10 years' minimum experience in software design or development
  • 3 years' minimum experience as a lead or manager of a development team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Software Development, or a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience
  • Experience working with embedded systems
  • Outstanding technical problem solving skills.
  • Excellent design, coding, and debugging skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Wireless protocols
  • Writing performance critical code in C/C++.
  • Windows or Linux device driver development
  • Hardware bring up and Manufacturing
  • BSP and OS image creation
  • DSP/FPGA/firmware development
  • GPU programming
