Job Description

Expected compensation: $40.00 - $43.00 per hour

HireArt is helping the world’s largest social network hire a Technical Specialist, Sound Design to join its Immersive Audio (AR/VR) group.

All candidates should be passionate about high quality product sound/enhancing user experiences through audio and have an enthusiasm for innovative audio design.

The ideal candidate should have audio QA experience validating sound performance in hardware and mobile products and a background in sound design or software engineering.

As a Technical Specialist, You Will

• Confirm cross-platform voice experiences and test in first-party hardware and mobile environments.
• Run and maintain audio quality test plans.
• Investigate, triage, escalate, and follow up on reported bugs.
• Document and maintain technical best practices.
• Contribute creatively and technically to defining audio design experiences.
• Collaborate closely with immediate and cross-functional teams.
  

Requirements

• 2+ years experience in audio QA, implementation, or technical design
• Experience following test plans and evaluating audio quality on hardware devices
• Familiarity with QA processes and bug tracking
• Proficiency in digital audio workstations and editing tools (Pro Tools and Izotope RX preferred)
• Basic understanding of DSP, audio synthesis, and digital audio concepts and formats
• Knowledge of both iOS and Android operating systems
• Comfortable working with command line interfaces
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal

Preferred qualifications:

• Scripting or programming experience (e.g. Python, C++, JavaScript)
• Familiarity with TTS vocoder technology
• Project management experience
  

Commitment:This is a full-time, 3-month contract position (with the potential for extension) staffed via HireArt and based in Fremont, CA. It will be fully remote until offices reopen and is available to candidates local to the Bay Area.
