Job Description
Our client is an industry leader of robotic-assisted surgical systems and looking for a Senior Visual Designer in the 3D and AR/VR space to join their growing team. This opportunity is a fully remote long term contract position with potential for extension or full time hire. This role requires someone local in the US.The Senior Visual Designer is responsible for working with the design and engineering teams to define a consistent and high quality user experience for each product line. Their primary focus is to ensure that new products are highly usable by defining a clear visual language for graphical user interfaces. This includes development of user interfaces from early product definition and development phases through product launch, as well as participating in the validation of product usability through informal and formal testing with representative users.
Senior Visual Designer Responsibilities
- Closely collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement user interfaces that enhance surgeon and or staff capabilities through unprecedented simplicity, utility, and ease of use
- Define and execute design system patterns employing typography, color, grid systems, iconography, and motion to deliver world class user interfaces
- Participate in user research and usability testing with surgical products
- Create and manage files and assets used to present and communicate design intent to engineering teams and stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or other Product Design related fields
- Minimum of 8 years of experience working as a designer (in-house, agency, or freelance)
- Experience designing end-to-end user interfaces for a wide range of products and services
- Expertise in interface design tools like Figma
- Expertise in prototyping tools like Protopie and Principle
- Experience with motion design and 3D tools like Maya, Blender, After Effects, and Unity
- Experience designing for 3D (AR/VR) environments is an advantage
