Facebook Reality Labs is developing AR/VR to bring together world-class experts in efforts to ship groundbreaking products at the intersection of hardware, software, and content. We have a clear mandate to ship products at scale. In particular, seemingly impossible products that define new categories that advance Facebook's mission of connecting the world. The AR/VR Technology Engineering Team has the responsibility for taking breakthroughs in core technology and delivering them to market at scale. The Technology Engineering Camera Team seeks a Camera Module Image IQ Test Engineer who has extended experience in conducting imaging quality testing for consumer electronics.
Responsibilities
- Participate in creation and execution of photographic image/video quality test strategy for novel consumer electronics products
- Execute objective & subjective image quality test plan and test management system development according to various products needs
- Develop image/video quality automated regression testing infrastructure and regression testing metrics
- Maintain image/video quality bug tracking systems
- Triage and debug image quality related problems during development cycles
- Manage and lead third party vendor photographic image/video test efforts when needed
- Manage Lab setup and test equipment for objective and subjective IQ tests
- Be heavily involved in product realization and bring-up
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Photography, Film, Imaging Science, Color Science, Psychology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field/experience
- Experience leading cross-functional communications for image quality test result discussions
- Knowledge of digital imaging system working principles and best practices
- Knowledge of image quality fundamentals and their system drivers
- Knowledge of best practices in image/video quality test
- Knowledge of image quality metrics and corresponding evaluation methods
- Experience implementing and debugging image quality testing equipment
- Experience working with cross-functional teams
- Experience in advancing the imaging user experience in consumer products
Preferred Qualification
- Experience with industry image quality test protocols and standards in the market
- Knowledge of overall systems interactions in the image pipeline
- Experience in one of the following areas: Photography and videography, imaging lab design and setup, software QA process, camera hardware quality validation, or camera ISP and computation photography features
- Experience with final user experience in regards to photography and videography features
