BigBox VR, makers of POPULATION: ONE, is seeking a talented Community Marketing Manager to build the next generation of online, VR multiplayer games. You will define a new approach to growing an engaged game community by combining quantitative marketing and brand techniques. Most marketers usually veer towards “more analytical” or “more qualitative”. But if you enjoy both thinking in data and producing creative content, this full-stack marketing role is for you. We are looking for a strong communicator who loves the iterative technical and creative process. This person will have the desire to understand a product and marketing holistically and can contribute creatively, knowing when to be pragmatic and when to be blue sky. This person will make trade-offs that align with business objectives while embracing teamwork, as well as solve problems independently.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute (from scratch) a go-to-market strategy that takes advantage of all viable channels to drive product and player growth
- Collaborate with product stakeholders to establish positioning and key messages that perfectly resonate with our players
- Create engaging content, including (but not limited to): blogs, videos, social posts, and live streams
- Come up with new techniques/channels to organically grow a passionate community from our existing player-base
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners (platforms, players, influencers, etc.) to launch ongoing live-ops events and content drops
- Analyze player data (retention/monetization) to create actionable marketing and product insights
- Research comparable games to provide insight from industry standards
- Give high-energy, enthusiastic demos to players, investors, and press
Minimum Qualification
- Interest for games, entertainment, and current industry/cultural trends
- Experienced working effectively by yourself or collaborate across all disciplines
- Willing to rapidly iterate with the team, take constructive feedback, to formulate a well-drafted plan
- Self-motivated, ambitious, and tenaciously curious
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment filled with ambiguities
- Demonstrated critical thinking and communication skills
- High energy and authentic
Preferred Qualification
- Strong background in AR or VR
- Experience with live service games
- Experience working with and/or playing competitive eSports games
