In this highly technical role as a Sr Systems Architect in Micron's Embedded Business Unit, you will be responsible for the definition of leadership Memory and Storage requirements of Industrial, Consumer, and Multi-Market applications. The role requires developing an in-depth understanding of systems & applications' architectures and memory & storage usage to influence and align product strategies, product architectures, and roadmaps.

You will partner with Systems, Applications, and Software engineers in Micron and the customers to understand future challenges & requirements and propose solutions based on state-of-the-art and emerging memory & storage technologies. Additionally, you'll contribute to Micron's technical leadership program's goals of solving complex problems in the value chain by actively participating in innovation forums, technical seminars/working groups, and publications.

Job Responsibilities Include
  • Help our EBU-Embedded Business Unit develop highly differentiated solutions with a focus on a 3-5 years horizon
  • Analyze systems' architectures, applications, and software trends to determine memory & storage requirements. Applications include but not limited to Industrial Automation, Drones, Transportation, Surveillance, Home Automation, AR/VR and Aerospace & Defense.
  • Gather and analyze application use cases and workloads with the help of System Application Engineers
  • Innovate differentiating solutions, features, and specs to address system challenges and requirements
  • Develop system models and emulation platforms to answer key workload questions and solution definition in collaboration with System Application Engineers, Software Engineers, and Lab Engineers
  • Identify and investigate key technology and application trends in the embedded space
  • Scope opportunities for emerging memory technologies in embedded systems architectures
  • Develop and grow trusted partner relationships with external partners
  • Drive regular & path-finding technical engagements with key customers and chipset partners
  • Evangelize Micron solutions through engagements with technologists at customers/partners and industry forums
Qualifications & Required Skills
  • 5+ years experience in System Architecture and Product Definition with a demonstrated track record of innovation
  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related fields. Prefer MS/Ph.D.
  • Sound technical background in System Architectures, SoCs, Sub-System Micro Architectures, Memories, Storage, Embedded SW, and RTOS
  • Good understanding of system architectures, applications, and compute/memory/storage requirements in embedded applications: Industrial Automation, Surveillance, Drones, Transportation, Medical, AR/VR, STB, and Home Automation. Background in Aerospace & Defense applications is desirable.
  • Knowledge of memory & storage usage in systems and end-customer applications
  • Experience in memory and storage technologies preferred but not required: DDR, LPDDR, GDDR, NAND, eMMC, UFS, SATA, PCIe, NVMe
  • Understanding of Memory and Storage interface and protocols
  • Knowledge of memory controllers, filesystems, and drivers
  • Deep knowledge of architecture tradeoff analysis and modeling tools and methodologies
  • Foundation in mixed-signal VLSI such as analog circuits and systems, digital logic, and RTL design.
  • Fundamental programming/scripting skills (C/C++, Python, Perl, Verilog)
  • Strong communication skills, excellent customer interaction, interpersonal skills, and presentation skills are essential requirements for this role
  • Track record of innovating differentiated solutions
  • Ability to maintain clear priorities and direction for the product development teams
  • Ability to lead, challenge, communicate and influence at all levels of the organization
  • A good understanding of AI/ML Architectures, Algorithms, and Software tools is desired
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Responsive, organized and detail-oriented
