In Facebook Reality Labs (FRL), we're building the next generation of devices and experiences that make people feel closer. This includes Oculus and Portal products, AR products, Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) software and content, and research and development labs. FRL Brand Design team solves bigger strategic problems for the business and our brands using design as a strategic tool and drives the design evolution and execution of our FRL brands. The main focus areas are 1) bringing Brand Strategies to life, 2) building scalable design systems, platforms and programs and 3) designing consistent, meaningful, and innovative brand experiences.We are currently seeking a Designer with a strong brand/graphic/retail design background to work on retail experiences for our AR brands and to partner with design directors, 2D/3D/spatial designers, writers, producers, and product marketers as well as our retail partners and cross-functional sales teams, ensuring a consistent language through all retail touch points in print and digital environments.This Designer should be a multi-faceted and innovative problem-solver with a strong, focused experience in Brand/Graphic Design, Retail, and Marketing. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience across print, digital, and experiential, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, iterative, semi-structured environment is critical. The candidate has to be fluent in the fundamentals of design with a portfolio that showcases this expertise. A Designer in our retail team covers the whole design spectrum–from quick, rough idea ideation to polished final deliverables, following a conceptual thread down to the smallest details.
Responsibilities
- Guard the retail concepts and language of the brand and continue to hone in on the retail system to create a style that becomes iconic
- Concept and execute strong brand and graphic design across all retail surfaces and experiences
- Sketch, ideate, and generate work quickly based on stakeholder direction and self-driven research
- Work cross-functionally, breaking down complex briefs into simple, compelling ideas and highly-engaging, world-class design, while improving the overall creative and production processes
- Work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment with design directors, other designers, copywriters, and producers as well as external retail design partners to fully realize final artwork - always clearly articulating design decisions
- Oversee and guide design created by other retail design partners
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years experience as a designer
- Experience on retail and across the full palette of brand expression: print, digital, and experiential
- Experience working in cross-functional teams focused on best-in-class customer journeys and experiences
- Experience working in a data-driven environment
- Experience in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, experienced in 3D software and Figma
- Experience in graphic design, typography, photography and retouching, layouts & grids, color strategy
