Expected compensation: $81.00 - $100.00 per hour

HireArt is helping the world’s largest social network hire a Hardware Engineer (Optical Metrology) to research, design, develop, and test hardware components/systems for AR and VR technology development.

As a Hardware Engineer, You Will
  • Responsible for both lab and mass production optical metrology development for VR optical components and systems, collaborating closely with internal/external, cross functional partners.
  • Drive work for a small team of optical scientists/engineers in partnership with an engineering manager.
  • Drive team direction for development of Optical Metrology from proof-of-concept to implementation into manufacturing.
  • Perform strategic planning for test strategies, mapping program needs to metrology-test owner development plans—from components to systems.
  • Work with your own team and cross-functional team members to execute on the above, including methods, procedures, and data management.
  • Direct technicians, engineers, or other technical support personnel as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Experience/familiarity with developing custom optical systems for Metrology deployments
  • Hands-on experience with hardware and software for tool interfaces, data collection, and analysis
  • Team player and detail oriented
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills to provide support/constructive performance feedback
Commitment:This is a full-time, 12-month contract position staffed via HireArt and based in Redmond, WA. It will be fully remote until offices reopen and is available to candidates local to the Redmond area.
