At Strivr, we are democratizing VR content creation for Immersive Learning. Our CG team builds the pipeline and asset library that power our content authoring products and enable anyone to create highly scalable CG-based VR experiences. You will work closely with CG artists and the Product and Engineering teams to maintain, improve, and envision the future of our CG art pipeline. You will focus on solving technical challenges that allow Strivr to continue shipping high quality CG products and user experiences. You will look ahead to envision and plan investments into next-gen technologies and processes that keep Strivr on the cutting edge.
Your responsibilities:
- Maintain technologies and workflows that keep the CG pipeline flowing
- Work with cross-functional stakeholders to identify and implement improvements to systems, processes, and workflows
- Develop tools for Unity and Maya that increase productivity and the quality of art assets
- Create and maintain shaders and animation blend trees in Unity
- Create blend shape models in Unity to be used for lip sync using static viseme meshes created in Maya
- Ideate and plan technical art solutions for forward-looking product investments
- Write documentation and share knowledge across the Art, Engineering, and Product team
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Technical Artist or related role for interactive 3D games or training experiences
- Proficiency with Maya and Unity3D
- Experience scripting in Python and C#
- Strong understanding of source and asset version control, especially with Git, SourceTree, and Perforce
- Experience writing custom shaders, specifically CGFX
- Team player who values cross-functional collaboration and actively seeks feedback from stakeholders
- Ability to stay focused and execute independently in a fast-paced startup environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to maintain and improve an animation pipeline
- Experience working with AR/VR technologies
- Experience with Adobe Substance 3D Painter
