Summary:
Head-mounted augmented reality is a unique tool for medical applications by providing the medical caregiver with the ability to access information, view important anatomy and connect to third parties hands-free while caring for the patient.
At Nakamir we are developing the next generation augmented reality tools for medics and first responders.
We are looking for computer vision engineers and mixed reality developers who are interested to join us and shape the application from an early stage.
If you are experienced with C# and/or C++ and UWP applications, deeply understand computer vision and 2D-3D projections and love solving challenging problems on mobile head-mounted devices, it would be great to hear from you!
Key qualifications
- 5+ years of experience writing efficient, readable and reusable code using either Unity, C#, C++
- Good knowledge of computer vision including camera projections in 3D space, projective geometry and using existing computer vision toolboxes such as OpenCV, ARToolkit, Realsense SDK
- 3+ years experience with training and running models in TF, Keras, onnx, ideally also outside python/Matlab eg. using WinML
- Experience with UWP application development (since we are developing on the Hololens 2)
- Edge computing – Many of our applications need to run offline on the mixed reality headset
- Excellent software engineering skills including source control, unit testing, debugging, documentation, continuous integration & build trains
- Independent work ethics – We are a small team, so you need to be able to reach your goals without constant supervision
- Perseverance – There are many roadblocks during Hololens 2 development due to the novelty of the field and the lack of libraries, so perseverance to overcome these on your own is a must.
- Enthusiasm for mixed reality – We are at the early stage of development and it will be a few years out till medics will be able to use the actual product. Enthusiasm for mixed reality makes the time until then much more enjoyable for you and us.
Responsibilities:
- Join a small team to develop innovative medical AR software for the Hololens 2
- Create mixed reality software solutions that aids medics during training and procedures
- Write patents and papers about your work and present it at relevant conferences
- Create and lead project teams to develop software features
- Closely work with medics and clinicians to test current iterations of the product
