What you will do: (Primary Duties & Responsibilities)

The Auto Club Group is seeking an Instructional Design Consultant to work in a project manager or curriculum architect capacity to create highly complex instructional design assignments and advance eLearning Projects. The Instructional Design Consultant will serve as a subject matter expert to business clients providing advanced insight and design counsel to senior leaders and executives.

In This Position, You Will Have The Opportunity To
  • Develop design strategies for assigned business clients
  • Organize, develop, revise and update all aspects of course curriculums to include storyboards, content, platforms, and modules and evaluate revisions for effectiveness.
  • Maintain online courses and programs to include creating high-level graphic design components and producing instructional materials.
  • Identify and utilize appropriate resources to complete projects while ensuring cost-effective completion within specified deadlines and company standards.
  • Forecast and communicate potential project outcomes to include interpretation of issues and foresight for problems that may occur.
  • Identify, analyze and recommend innovative approaches to address and resolve highly complex problems.
With the support of the Learning and Development Support Team, the Instructional Design Consultant is responsible for ensuring course materials are uploaded and updated in the Learning Management System and tested/evaluated in preparation for hand-off to Learning Specialists.

Qualifications

We’re looking for candidates who: (Preferred/Required Qualifications)
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in education, training, instructional design, or a related field or equivalent work experience. Master’s degree in education, training, instructional design, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in utilizing instructional technology to edit course content, writing, editing, proofreading, and organizing course content to include layout, audio, and video scripts.
  • Ability to interview subject matter experts and stakeholders to identify needs and develop, create instructional documents and execute training curriculum and learning strategies with stakeholder needs in mind throughout production.
  • Experience creating powerful assessment elements to accompany courses that target measurable data as it relates to Key Performance Indicators, Knowledge and Skills Assessments, and relevant skills as associated with an individual’s overall performance.
  • Knowledge and deep level of understanding of learning models to include ADDIE, AGILE, SAM, Bloom’s Learning Taxonomy, Kirkpatrick’s Levels of Training Evaluations, and Gagne’s Nine levels of learning.
  • Experience with learning technologies to create, develop, manipulate and share content to include but not limited to authoring, animation, and gamification tools, LMS, VR software, micro-learning platforms/design, video, and audio editing software, and HTML.
  • Project management and organizational skills
  • Visual and artistic talents that utilize various forms of creative imagery to present facts in an interesting way to adult learners.
  • Understanding of virtual reality (VR) tools and how to apply VR learning content to instructional design.
  • Working knowledge of Captivate, Rise 360, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office applications.
