Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience working in the consumer hardware/software space taking a new technology to market, or experience with display architectures or waveguide design.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience working with external partners, or contract manufacturers.
  • Experience with mass manufacturing of highly specialized components with tight tolerances
  • Expert in the tools and elements of program management, and exceptional influencing skills
  • Ability to be collaborative, and a relationship-building approach to getting things done.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. The Augmented Reality Team at Google is building the future of immersive computing. Through our development of ARCore we enable augmented reality experiences on devices. We are working on cutting edge technologies enabling the next generation of immersive devices.

We are building a highly optimized, immersive device which will power the next generation of experiences. As a Technical Program Manager, Display Technologies, Augmented Reality you'll drive our display technologies program through research and development and into mass manufacturing. You will shape the program from the ground up, leveraging your experience to ensure that every step is scoped, specified, resourced, and built to very demanding constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Bring order and determine what needs to get done in an ambiguous, fluid environment.
  • Build positive relationships and trust over time through strong on-time delivery of commitments; high quality, great communication, continuous innovation, and by exceeding expectations.
  • Drive consensus across the team on topics such as architectural direction, performance Key Performance Indicators, timelines and more.
  • Break the program down into executable units, appropriately scheduled to ensure optimized resource loading across the team and on time delivery of commitments.
