This position is responsible for translating Beta’s vision of eVTOL flight and Simulation into reality. The Senior Industrial Designer (Sr. ID) will lead internal design projects to develop best-in-class, manufacturable solutions in line with BETA emerging design DNA. The Sr. ID will interface with customers, other designers, engineers, program managers, and suppliers – ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned. Exceptional visual and verbal communication skills will be employed while bringing ideas from concept, through sketch, CAD, VR, prototype, certification, and into production. This position is part of a growing BETA Industrial Design team within the OEM that serves the wider organization as an internal consulting agency.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Lead Projects in Industrial Design of Aircraft, Charging Infrastructure, and Simulators
  • Design usability and operator efficiency into the Interior and exterior of aircraft
  • Develop and refine human touchpoints in the life cycle of an aircraft, crew, passengers, mechanics, etc.
  • Rapidly 3D model and visualize product challenges and opportunities in Alias
  • Communicate with excellent written, visual, and verbal skills, with both internal & external customers.
  • Maintain high energy, while being self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)
  • 10+ years of ID experience in a transportation related field
  • Experience with aircraft interior and seating design for certification
  • Experience working on fully industrialized vehicle projects
  • Experience with other forms of electric transportation and related infrastructure
  • Proven creative eye for styling and usability, that results in market winning products
  • Strong 3D cad skills in modeling & visualization (Alias, Dynamo, VRED preferred)
  • Strong design communications skills from sketching to rendering
  • Hands on prototyping/fabrication skills a plus
  • Experience with Virtual Reality solutions (VRED VR preferred)
