Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 1 year of experience with data structures or algorithms.
- 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g. C#, C++, Java)
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 1 year of experience with front-end frameworks, full-stack development, and/or API development.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
- Experience in imaging/vision/perception, human computer interaction, augmented/virtual reality, video streaming, and real-time sensors.
- Knowledge/experience in one or more of the following (e.g., 3D graphic rendering, Unity, Graphical User Interface, Mobile Development, Web development (i.e. WebGL), Google Mobile Apps, Google Mobile Services).
- Interest in Android development, Machine Learning (ML), service and infrastructure for ML learning, and other languages used in mobile app development (e.g., Kotlin, Dart/Flutter, JavaScript).

As a Software Engineer ll on the Augment Reality (AR) team, you will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Research, Product Management, User Experience, and Program Management to build user-facing augmented reality applications for phones and next-generation devices. You will investigate, design, prototype, build, and launch applications and develop applied perception technologies that enable users to interact with the world in new ways through phones and web services.

We're focused on making immersive computing accessible to billions of people through mobile devices, and our scope continues to grow and evolve.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with User Experience and Product Management to define, prototype, and test developed applications with real users to discover what experiences users value the most and how to improve the developed applications to provide more value to users.
- Design, build, and launch user-facing applications to run on phones and web servers.
- Collaborate with the AR Platform team to optimize the applications, and with teams across the company to leverage and integrate the best of Google technology and services in AR experiences.
