Snap’s Augmented Reality team invents the immersive (and fun!) camera experiences that are at the core of our products. From developing creative new Lens features for Snapchat, to supporting the continuous growth and evolution of Lens Studio (our platform for an ever-increasing community of AR creators), to designing the cutting-edge computer vision and machine learning technology that makes face transformation Lenses possible — our Augmented Reality team is working hard on their mission to bring AR to more people, places, and moments, every day.

We’re looking for a Machine Learning Infrastructure Engineer to join our Augmented Reality team!

What You’ll Do

• Build infrastructure that powers Snap’s augmented reality platform
• Work closely with product teams to build recommendation system for AR Lenses
• Own and drive high-level features from planning through implementation
• Be involved in all stages of the software development lifecycle
• Solve complex technical challenges that will impact millions of Snapchat users daily
• Perform code reviews and ensure exceptional code quality
• Collaborate with design, product, and engineering teams to develop groundbreaking technologies
  

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of practical application of computer science and engineering fundamentals to the design and production of a software product
• Ability to evaluate and understand the technical trade offs of every decision
• Strong understanding of machine learning approaches and algorithms
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
  

Minimum Qualifications

• BA/BS in a technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of experience
• 3+ years of software development experience
• Experience with Java and/or Python
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Spark ML, or related frameworks
• Experience working with high load services and data processing
• Experience working with recommendation or machine learning systems
• Experience working with distributed systems
