The Authentic Presence Capabilities team within Facebook Reality Labs develops machine perception technologies for human understanding that power AR Sharing experiences across the Facebook family of apps. We work full-stack across applied research and development of algorithms, performance optimizations for target hardware, and production deployments into target devices and apps. We use state of the art methods in computer vision and machine learning to build novel generative (GANs, VAE, etc.), segmentation, object detection, human tracking models. We are responsible for building the next generation AR experiences for Facebook’s family of apps that will fundamentally change the way we interact with and experience the world.
Responsibilities
- Lead Research to advance the science and technology in Computer Vision, Graphics, Machine Learning, AR, VR, and Computational Photography
- Drive end to end data collection/annotation, model training and model evaluation
- Work closely with partner teams to propose and prototype new AR experiences
Minimum Qualification
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD in Computer Vision, Computer Science, or related field
- Applied research experience in deep learning, generative models (GANs, VAE, etc.), segmentation, object detection, human tracking
- 3+ years of experience with Python and/or C++ programming languages
- Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration
- Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
Preferred Qualification
- Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, or fellowships, as well as first-authored publications in CVPR, NIPS, ECCV, ICCV, ICLR
- Experience with Machine Learning Principles such as Deep Learning, Computer Vision, etc. are preferred
- Demonstrated software engineer experience via an internship, work experience, coding competitions, or widely used contributions in open-source repositories (e.g., GitHub)
