Expected compensation: $84.00 - $95.00 per hour

HireArt is helping the world’s largest social network hire a AR/VR PCB Design Engineer with a deep understanding of printed circuit board design (PCB), high speed design environments, and the ability to receive guidance from the company’s design engineers to build complex circuit boards.

As An AR/VR PCB Design Engineer, You Will
  • Manage all aspects of PCB design, working with hardware design engineers and PCB/assembly vendors to determine PCB stack-up, apply design constraints, perform component placement, carry out signal routing, and facilitate DFM processes.
  • Create OrCAD schematic symbols, PCB footprints, and 3D component models in Allegro as well as maintain ECAD library databases.
  • Lead layout of mixed signal, high-speed, and RF multi-layer HDI circuit boards.
  • Prepare fabrication notes, assembly notes, and all deliverables (e.g. Gerber files, drill charts, PCB assembly BOMs etc.) required by PCB FAB vendors to build circuit boards for prototypes and products.
  • Work with PCB FAB vendors to address DFM concerns and feedback.
Requirements
  • 5+ years experience using Cadence OrCAD/Allegro for PCB design
  • Extensive leadership experience and knowledge of PCB Design, PCB stack-up/materials, and a good understanding of PCB technology/processes
  • PCB design experience in analog, high speed digital, mixed signal design, and RF
  • Experience with all phases of design (e.g. thermal mitigation, impedance control, EMC, grounding, and PCB reliability)
  • Experience and knowledge of IPC standards and practices
  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of PCB design used in high volume products
  • Experience with HDI, flex, and Rigid-Flex board design and manufacturing
  • Experience with SiP and mSAP technologies is a plus
  • Experience leading offshore layout engineers to leverage time zone differences and expedite design processes is a plus
Commitment:This is a full-time, 12-month contract position staffed via HireArt and based in Sunnyvale, CA. It will be fully remote until offices reopen and is available to candidates local to the Bay Area.
