Seeking an Industrial Business Development Representative


Salary: $75,000-$80,000 Base + Commission

Location: Houston, TX


Overview:

Under the direction of the General Manager, Downstream Business Development leverages industry and applications experience to influence specifications and maximize sales of pressure relief valve repair services with new and existing customers in the downstream market.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the establishment, maintenance, and growth of professional business relationships with customers in selected accounts who influence the selection of final relief valve maintenance solutions.
  • Maintains a high degree of product and application knowledge.
  • Maintains a high degree of industry knowledge and awareness, including trends, technology advancement, state of the competition, significant events related to our business and the customers’ businesses.
  • Routes qualified opportunities outside of VR repair to General Manager and VP of Sales
  • Establishes relationships, builds rapport to assist with influencing customer preference and specifications to include products and services.
  • Sends customer visit schedule to General Manager and VP of Sales weekly.
  • Submit customer visit forms.
  • Schedule quarterly quality meetings with key accounts.
  • Develop, prepare, and present VR sales strategy to General Manager and VP of Sales annually.
  • Lead weekly sales check-ins, monthly sales reviews, and quarterly sales reviews for VR sales.


Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree required, engineering or associated technical degree preferred or equivalent, relevant industry sales experience.
  • Strong knowledge of industry applications, operations and technology.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years proven sales experience in the Process End-User Industry. Solid network of current industry contacts is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience selling in a service industry is required. 
  • Experience with New pumps sales or Relief valves is highly beneficial. 
  • Must be able to wear minimum level of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction which may include but is not limited to: safety glasses and hearing protection. 
  • Must have the ability to perform work with occasional walking and standing.
