Facebook Reality Labs is a world leader in the design of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) systems. Come work alongside technology visionaries and research scientists to create the technology that makes VR and AR pervasive and universal. The Cameras & Sensors (C&S) team gathers world class expertise and talent in photographic and machine vision cameras, imaging sensors, and depth, inertial, and bio sensing systems, and owns the development and validation for all these sensing systems across AR/VR & Portal product portfolios.We are seeking a Biosensor Architect that will work with a multidisciplinary team to design, model, and implement biosensing systems. This individual will be a technical expert and lead architect for sensor systems for the measurement of biological parameters for health and wellness applications. Their work scope includes research initiatives and interfacing with product development and engineering to implement solutions for real-world products.
Responsibilities
- Own the infrastructure for the design and implementation of biological sensors, including modeling and electronic system design.
- Lead research projects to improve accuracy and reliability of biological measurements.
- Prototyping innovative concepts to define new sensor features.
- Partner with sensor vendors to and product development teams to select and validate components for use in products.
- Collaborate with product engineers and algorithm experts to develop next generation sensing solutions.
Minimum Qualification
- MS in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with physics-based modeling such as FEM, ray tracing, and/or EM.
- Proficiency with data collection and analysis tools, including Python, MATLAB, and other scripting languages.
- Understanding of sensor theory including underlying physics, circuit integrations, and signal processing.
Preferred Qualification
- Deep knowledge of the fundamentals of at least one of the following sensing mechanisms: thermal, optical, biopotential.
- PhD in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering.
- Familiarity with algorithms for backend processing of biosensing data.
- Experience designing and implementing measurement circuits including analog front ends.
- Experience with biological or biomedical applications for biosensing measurements for wearable devices.
