Responsibilities
Facebook's FRL organization brings together world-class experts to develop and ship groundbreaking products connecting people and communities and help advance Facebook's mission of bringing the world closer together. The Wireless Technologies team gathers world class expertise and talent in RF, Antenna, DVT, Wireless Firmware and Wireless Systems and owns the definition, development and validation of every wireless interface across the whole AR\VR product portfolio. We are looking for a System Validation Engineer who can join our growing team to shape the future of AR/VR.System (GPS) Validation Engineer is a role that requires a multidisciplinary experience in system validation and quality assurance in wireless technologies; the role requires close collaboration with cross functional teams both in wireless as well SW and silicon development functions to manage and drive among others the following duties:
- Working with System engineering to generate and develop GPS/GNSS test framework, including GNSS protocol (AGPS, AGNSS, NMEA, etc.) and RF metrics validation, GPS performance and power consumption characterization in emulated channel environments
- Reviewing external party GPS/GNSS results and perform correlation studies and support first level issue debugging
- Creation and Execution of GPS/GNSS verification plans
- Planning and tracking GPS/GNSS tasks
- Working with cross functional, cross-functional, team to reproduce, debug and analyze the root cause of the issues and to provide mitigation plan/suggestions
- Implement the Common Test Framework and automation capabilities including the test scripts for call boxes for functional and performance test plans in close collaboration with automation engineers
Minimum Qualification
- Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years related experience
- Experience with GPS/GNSS validation utilizing Spirent and R&S platforms
- Experience in cross-layer GPS performance validation, including OS, HW, SW
- Experience in digital interface as SMB, SPI, UART, etc.
- Experience with different wireless communication systems and protocols like AGPS, AGNSS, etc.
- In depth experience in analyzing logs, troubleshooting issues from field or lab for wireless technologies
- Understanding of system development and verification testing methods and concepts for wireless devices
Preferred Qualification
- Understanding of wireless communications systems and standards, including 5G, LTE, and connectivity technologies like Wi-Fi and BT
- Experience working with Android/iOS devices, embedded systems and software, particularly mobile chipsets are desired
- Experience with managing issues coming from IOT, and/or GCF/PTCRB and/or Operator certification testing, field testing
- Experience with scripting and automation, Python, Perl or C/C++ programming experience
