Sony Interactive Entertainment Technical Project Manager
Location: San Mateo, CA

We seek a project manager to partner with our highly creative R&D team to lead technical projects while collaborating with partners in the USA, Japan and the UK. Responsibilities
- Lead R&D Projects in state-of-the-art technologies, collaborating with project leads, to deliver them in committed time, agreed scope and required quality.
- You will drive project planning/scheduling, task tracking and follow up as needed, balancing internal teams & vendors across multiple sites working in partnership with Engineering managers
- Set up & maintain appropriate tools for project management artifacts for effective tracking and facilitate sharing of project information.
- Inspire change by conducting effective meetings with partners, teams and vendors.
- Be the key communication point to coordinate tasks between team members in U.S., U.K and Japan.
- Work with engineering leadership to set up/maintain/improve vendor project delivery process.
- Communicate estimates, schedules, issues and dependencies to technical or project lead
- Prepare presentations, project documentation and reports to various partners.
- Delivering multiple research & development projects, involving teams across geographies, leading multiple vendors acting as a program manager.
- Develop and refine vital processes, including development methodologies, usage of tracking tools, release and operational procedures (e.g. process for release management and tracking execution).
- May require 10% to 20% of time traveling nationally and/or internationally depending on project needs.
Requirements
- Prior professional experience supporting one or more of these industries: gaming, consumer electronics, embedded software and/or an advanced software platform development.
- Must have successfully shipped multiple products from concept to product launch
- Experience supporting an Agile/Scrum, Hardware/Waterfall and/or hybrid development environments
- Motivated, organized, empathetic self-starter with ability to seek resolution for routine or complicated problems optimally including conflict resolution and risk assessment among other.
- Strong Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office, Jira /Confluence skills.
- Excellent written and verbal presentation skills are required.
- Effectively and guide with multi-functional groups (including hardware, software, content and services, or ML/AI) across divisions, worldwide, as part of a team, identifying and balancing dependencies.
- Meticulous attention to detail to make good, and timely decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering with equivalent experience
Nice To Have
- If you have experience delivering projects in the latest technologies like Sensing, AI/Machine Learning/Deep Learning, Analytics/AR/VR/XR a plus.
- Familiarity with rapid prototyping and MVP / high speed iteration design.
- PMP, CSM, etc. certifications.
- Experience of having collaborated with Japan partners and/or China supply chain (ODMs).
- Understanding of and experience with SAFe.
