Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.
  • Experience in mobile application development.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 2 years of experience with iOS or Android application development.
  • 2 years of experience with performance, large scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, and/or debugging.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.
  • Experience developing in augmented reality or immersive environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in Java/Kotlin.

The Augmented Reality team is a group of engineers, designers, and research scientists tasked with building the foundations for great immersive computing and prototyping helpful, delightful user experiences.

As a Software Engineer working on application and platform development, you will directly contribute to building immersive experiences that will change our users’ lives. This is a unique opportunity to work on applications and frameworks that bring language and sound experiences to life on a novel computing paradigm. Your work will influence product direction, advance its development, and you will be at the forefront of this future-facing project.

The Google Augmented Reality team is a diverse group of experts tasked with building the foundations for great immersive computing and building helpful, delightful user experiences. Responsibilities

  • Design and implement new features for applications, frameworks, and platforms (including system integration).
  • Improve systems and processes, as well as encourage best practices.
  • Bring a user-first attitude and course-correct the team if necessary.
  • Help initiate and coordinate cross-team efforts to realize product, research, and user impact.
  • Contribute to overall team leadership, including mentoring teammates, establishing, and supporting a team culture of software engineering excellence.
