Job Summary

The Technical Art Director, AR/VR leads the design and implementation of cutting

edge real time 3D content and assets. The position calls for a proven record in

technical art production and design for AR/VR experiences. It requires broad and

deep understanding of state-of-the art real-time graphics platforms and

pipelines, and an ability to produce visually stunning 3D content while navigating

the unique technical challenges that come with cutting-edge platforms and

technologies.

 

Key Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in 3D computer graphics production in offline or

real-time rendering.

• A breadth of knowledge across the totality of technical art disciplines as

well as mastery in other areas such as VFX, character, environments,

procedural geometry, lighting, shading, etc.

• Proficient in real-time, physically-based rendering pipelines and able to

rapidly adapt to new formats, tools, and technologies.

• Capable of generating, optimizing, and integrating content across diverse

platforms at various stages of production.

• A natural collaborator and mentor who thrives in a group environment and

has experience communicating across disciplines – art, engineering, and

design.

• Experience architecting, developing, and extending tools and pipelines.

• Excellent working knowledge of Maya, Nuke, Substance, and Photoshop.

• Experience with Zbrush and Houdini as well as MEL and Python scripting

a plus.

• Excellent presentation, written, and oral skills.

• Able to collaborate, multitask, work within deadlines, and thrive in a

creative and dynamic work environment.

 

Description

 

The Technical Art Director, AR/VR will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams

to plan and execute content production for experiential real-time projects. The

ideal candidate understands content workflow challenges and the need to push

 

technical boundaries of proven and in-development technologies to achieve

project goals. This role requires the ability to creatively solve technical

challenges arising from working with continually developing technology on the

fly to produce high-end visual concepts, rapidly prototype, and deliver

performant and scalable production assets.

 

Education

BA/BFA/BS in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Computer Science or equivalent

industry experience
