We are looking for an exceptional Sr. Director, Strategy Marketing for our Vacuum & Analysis Division who can…

Take on this highly visible individual contributor leadership role within the company which will partner with business leadership to identify, document, and execute a growth strategy for the division.  In this position, you will plan and develop the V&A product line marketing strategy, investment decisions, and other strategic activities to effectively position MKS’ products in the market and drive profitable growth. You will also play an important role enterprise wide, by liaising closely with broader organizational leadership across other divisions to understand and influence product and market relationships and market impact.  You will have a solid line reporting relationship to the SVP & GM, V&A Division, and dotted line reporting relationship to the SVP, Corporate Marketing.

You will be responsible for the following key activities:


  • Lead the strategic planning process for the Vacuum & Analysis division
  • Identify and plan the strategic direction based on market requirements for the Division specific product lines including product strategy development, investment strategy, requirements analysis, and pricing strategy, with a focus on innovation and profitability
  • Partner with Business Units and Corporate Strategic Marketing in gathering and analyzing external market, competitive, customer needs information, and internal intelligence to extrapolate general market trends and develop strategic action plans
  • Drive process of gathering market data and conducting analysis to bring insights to M&A activities
  • Participate in the development of the operating plan. Act as a key contributor to the development of executive and financial analyst presentations
  • Work with Corporate MarCom team to ensure strategic alignment and prioritization of budget spend
  • Liaise closely with broader organizational leadership (other divisions) to understand and influence product and market relationships
  • Work with Office of the CTO to understand technology inflections in our core markets
  • Participate as an active member of divisional leadership team to drive strategic growth initiatives and strategies

What will you bring to the team, along with your great interpersonal skills and leadership capabilities is:


  • Bachelors’ degree with 15+ years of related technical product marketing and strategy development experience in a related industry required; MBA strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to effectively lead through influence across the most senior levels of the organization
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills at all levels internally and externally with customers. Must be able to present complex, technical information to various audience levels in an easy to understand manner.
  • Experienced and effective negotiator and influencer on matters of significance with executives and/or major customers.
  • Highly honed research and analytical skills with ability to synthesize into valuable and relevant insights
  • Demonstrated success in effectively interacting at various levels across large, complex, matrix organizations with proven results
  • Travel approximately 25% both nationally and internationally.
