Job Description
This position requires an employee to be onsite two times per week, generally on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

In this software engineer role, you will be responsible for all aspects of PLM and CAD related application management. You will have the opportunity to work hands-on to innovate software solutions, based on detailed requirements and system specifications. Development activities will include updating existing software and/or implementing new software solutions to address a specific need or solve a particular business problem. Additionally, you will drive software engineering activities in accordance with appropriate methodologies and application of a repeatable, systematic and quantifiable approach to the deployment process. This role will also work closely with architects to ensure alignment with IT standards.
About The Role
The PLM Software Engineer is responsible for all aspects of PLM and CAD related application management in the dynamic Manufacturing Engineering IT organization. This role includes the build of environments according to GM standards and working with business users and vendors to ensure all requirements are met, with a goal of deploying and maintaining the applications for Global Manufacturing Engineering. The ideal candidate will apply DevOps practices to maintain and upgrade existing systems and investigate future technologies such as augmented and AR/VR training solutions in line with the GMs strategic vision.
Specific Areas Of Responsibility Include
- Drive the design, development, pipelines, and deployment of key PLM and CAD applications
- Communicating with product management and team members from other teams about interfaces and dependencies
- All aspects of COTS application management at an enterprise level, including client/server installations, configurations, packaging, deployment, maintenance and support Integrate with DevOps infrastructure for continuous build, test, and deployment (CI/CD)
- Ability to assess new technologies and determine solution for enterprise implementation
- Improve the integration and simulation environment
Preferred Skill Set / Experience
- BS in science, technology, or engineering discipline
- 7+ years of experience with administration of Siemens PLM applications and related CAD/CAM/CAE applications, preferably in the manufacturing industry
- Outstanding analytical, problem solving, planning, and abstract thinking
- Multitasking ability to work both independently as well as in a team setting
- Working knowledge of database systems (Oracle, SQL, Postgres)
- Experience with scripting for task automation and monitoring
- Management of licenses
- DevOps experience preferred
- Prior additive manufacturing experience or VR/AR training solutions a plus
