Job Description
Our Commercial & Consumer Experience Studio is part of the Mixed Reality team, where we focus on creating highly crafted and delightful experiences across our family of Mixed Reality devices. We keep people at the center of everything we do, blending the physical and digital world, to unlock the next evolution in human computer and environment interaction, unlocking what before was restricted to our imagination(s).
As an
Interaction Designer, you will help us to lead the exploration of new multimodal interaction designs from early requirements analysis of user needs, developing and iterating of low- and high-fidelity prototypes based on continuous user feedback to formal evaluations in close collaboration with our User Research team. You need to feel comfortable to work in a rapid prototyping environment in which we test early, and we test often to drive to solutions that our customers will love. The goal is not only to provide great experiences to our customers but to articulate, share and present design guidance to our growing community of Mixed Reality developers. So, your work may involve interacting with partners and external developers to create great MR experiences with our technology. At the end of the day, we are all striving for the same at Microsoft: Empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more.
Our team has people from a wide variety of backgrounds, identities, previous work histories, life experiences, and we are eager to maintain and grow that diversity. Our varied backgrounds and unique experiences enable us to be better at building the best solutions for our customers and make for dynamic and joyful collaborations with colleagues! We are a fun, creative, and diverse team that celebrates and embraces our differences, and we’d love to get to know YOU!

- Drive user-centered design: Drive clarity about the customer value of your design explorations.
- Ability to take on different perspectives of users to think through various use cases and situations throughout their day.
- Create sample apps and documentation against the work you do.

- Great communication skills: Ability to synthesize input ideas from the team, clearly articulate early concepts based on that and share out input explorations, insights and opportunities in clear, concise, and compelling ways.
- Fundamental understanding of Human-Centered, Mixed Reality and Multimodal Interaction Design.
- Portfolio highlighting your innovative and elegant interaction and visual design work + demonstrating your process for moving from an idea to low- and high-fidelity prototypes.
