Job Summary:


MicroVision has an immediate opportunity for a LiDAR Algorithm Development Engineer. As a key member of the product development team, you will work directly with MicroVision's LiDAR development group as well as with the MicroVision Electrical and Mechanical engineering teams. This position is at our Redmond, WA facility. You will be responsible for Design and development of algorithms for automotive lidar products.


Essential Responsibilities:


  • Design and development of algorithms utilizing MicroVision LiDAR's 3D point clouds as applied to Advanced Driver Assistant Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Vehicles (AV).
  • Optimize algorithms for performance while minimizing computational complexity.
  • Analyze and process MicroVision 3D Point Cloud data sets for variety of operations, such as segmentation, clustering, collision avoidance, path prediction, etc.
  • Collaborate closely with software and RTL developers to enable implementation of algorithms in embedded software or logic.
  • Document and communicate design work.
  • Conduct design reviews.

 

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Experience in working with large 3D datasets and point clouds
  • Experience in systematic development of Algorithms to meet product requirements
  • Expertise in rapid and iterative algorithm prototyping in Python and MATLAB
  • Working knowledge of C++
  • Understanding of efficient implementation of Algorithms in Embedded CPUs, DSPs, or Logic.
  • Domain expertise in Computer Vision, Robotics, or Mathematics
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.


Education requirements:

  • M.Sc. in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or a related field and 5+ years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
