Facebook’s Remote Presence’s mission is to help everyone feel “Together When Apart”. Remote Presence is Facebook’s suite of audio and video communication tools that are at the center of Facebook's privacy-focused vision for social media, with the unique opportunity to build meaningful experiences across Messenger, Instagram, and Facebook. Our high impact roadmap ranges from in-call AR/VR effects, Avatars, and Shared Spaces to enabling co-experiences such as watching movies together while on a video call, co-broadcasting, and beyond. We have built 0 - 1 products that we want to grow and scale globally.In this role, you would be a key thought leader for the AR/VR teams within Rich Experiences, working hand-in-hand with product management, engineering and design. You will be part of the team responsible for shipping the future of real-time communication technology from Avatars to backgrounds and beyond. You will lead deep dive analysis into user behaviors/needs, market opportunities, product performance, and beyond that will directly impact what we build next.The ideal candidate will have experience and passion for product work and critical analysis. Additionally, you have demonstrated strong product leadership to tackle ambiguous questions and uncover recommendations to drive the product roadmap by proactively driving and delivering solid analyses.
Responsibilities
- Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and uncover opportunities to build audio and video communication experiences
- Define problems and opportunities in a complex or ambiguous area
- Inform, influence, support, and execute our product decisions and product launches
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Design teams beyond your immediate team to improve existing products and envision new products
- Monitor key product metrics, understanding root causes of changes in metrics
- Influence product teams through presentation of data-based recommendations, and clearly communicating state of business, experiment results, etc. to product teams
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelors/Masters Degree with 7+ years (or PhD with 4+ years) of experience working within an analytical role
- Experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches
- Experience in SQL, Python, R or other programming languages
- Understanding of statistics (e.g., hypothesis testing, statistical inference, regressions, ML systems)
- Experience communicating the results of analyses with product and leadership teams to influence the strategy of the product
Preferred Qualification
- 7+ years of experience working in an analytics organization
- Experience in supporting new product development
- Experience building and training statistical models
- Experience designing and evaluating complex experiments
- Experience working in growth and product strategy
