Come and develop, drive, and deliver new products in the world of AR/VR! We’re looking for individuals that want to be on the ground floor of breakthrough technologies and help build a world class sourcing team. As a Strategic Sourcing Manager (SSM), you will be responsible for developing the key strategic relationships with Integrated Circuit or ICs (in particular, actives and passive components) including negotiating strategic agreements, part costing, and supply chain management. This role is dependent on close collaboration with Hardware Engineering, Program Management, Technical Operations, and other cross-functional teams. During the product development process, you are responsible for ensuring the suppliers are prepared to support the delivery of key parts on-time at specified quality, and yield parameters and are prepared to meet the ramp quantities. It is the SSM's primary objective to ensure suppliers meet or exceed commercial and technical requirements throughout the life-cycle of the product(s).
Responsibilities
- Develop commodity or category sourcing strategies ensuring the suppliers are capable of meeting AR/VR’s current and future technical and business requirements
- Be a domain expert in circuit board electrical solutions (i.e., actives and passives, etc.)
- Continually benchmark the industry to monitor technology trends and ensure best practices are incorporated into the AR/VR supply chain
- Establish supplier selection criteria, evaluate alternative suppliers, manage the RFQ process, and drive final supplier selection in partnership with Engineering, Quality, and other cross-functional partners
- Negotiate various agreements with suppliers to establish best-in-class pricing, flexibility, quality, delivery, payment, warranty, and service terms
- Formulate contingency plans to de-risk technical challenges, long lead time, single source, and any supply issue
- Institute programs to optimize schedule flexibility while minimizing excess inventory exposure

- Own the ramp plan, ongoing production plan and forecast, tooling qualification schedule and tooling life for all designated suppliers
- Influence supplier technology roadmaps and create internal disruptive value-add to ensure Facebook’s system architecture and commercial requirements are met
- Work with CM partners to resolve any part shortages or quality problems which affects production schedules
- Establish and manage strategic supplier relationships at the executive level
Minimum Qualification
- BS degree
- 5+ years work experience in sourcing or related fields associated with ICs, semi-conductor, or silicon solutions
- Experience in supplier evaluation/selection, should cost models, contract negotiation and supply base management
- Leadership, program management, and cross-functional teamwork experience
- Material management and CTB (Clear to Build) proficiency
- Experience communicating with and influencing all levels of management
Preferred Qualification
- Advanced engineering degree and/or MBA
- Experience with high volume, consumer electronics products
- Mechanical or EE engineering background and working experience with either board layout and data signal integrity, power architectures, or CAD
- 7+ years of experience sourcing experience with 3+ years of experience managing suppliers with factories in China and Asia
