The Facebook Reality Labs team is building products that make it easier for people to connect with the ones they love most. Facebook FRL focuses on delivering Facebook's vision through Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR). Facebook FRL Research team is driving the state-of-the-art forward with breakthrough work in machine learning, graphics, displays, sensors, and new ways to map the human body. The compute performance and power efficiency requirements of Virtual and Augmented Reality require custom silicon. You will be a part of an innovative team working to create a complex graphics system including Silicon IP development for our research teams. To be successful, you will be eliminating barriers to your team's success, clearly communicating results to all stakeholders and ensuring the big picture stays in focus while delving into the details on specific issues. Responsibilities
- Own program management strategy for a complex graphics system including Hardware, software.
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for Research Silicon IP TPM execution. Work with research and engineering teams on IP development and tech transfer.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across the Graphics Research team and cross-functional leadership.
- Work with a cross-functional team of IP, FW, SW to set milestones, create integration plans and identify/address potential setbacks/risks and mitigation plans that enable the definition and execution of next generation hardware products.
- Develop schedules, identify critical paths and bottlenecks and maintain execution throughout the duration of programs.
- Effectively communicate program status to key cross-functional stakeholders and leadership.
- Work cross-functionally to develop best practices and technology development processes in a quickly-changing and dynamic environment to ensure on time delivery.
- Drive on-time design, development and delivery of pre-silicon development vehicles including FPGAs and emulation platforms.
- Manage delivery of custom IPs from concept to system validation, including C model, verified RTL for the development (simulation and Emulation) builds and ensure qualification to meet timelines.
- Ensure program documents are complete, current and available for staff and leadership review.
- Contribute to resource planning to ensure program success.
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years of experience developing silicon in the consumer electronics industry.
- 5+ years of program management experience.
- Knowledge of the silicon design and development process.
- Project management, leadership, dependency management and cross-group collaboration experience across more than one geographic location.
- Communication/presentation experience through all levels of the organization, technical and non-technical.
- Experience working with a cross-disciplinary team of researchers, software engineers, Silicon and hardware engineers.
- Early prototyping experience on new technologies.
Preferred Qualification
- Graduate degree.
- Strong understanding of computer graphics and GPU development.
- Experience driving custom silicon programs where no predecessor chip exists.
- Experience managing a multi-generational SI program.
- Experience tech transferring from a research team to product.
- FPGA prototyping and Emulation experience.
