Facebook Reality Labs Research (FRL-R) brings together a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers to create the future of augmented and virtual reality. Our Eye Tracking team focuses on finding comprehensive solutions to complex 3D tracking problems, delivering novel technologies and algorithms fundamental to future VR systems. Our team cultivates an honest and considerate environment where self-motivated individuals thrive. In this role, you will lead a team of software engineers and collaborate with pioneers in research, electrical engineering, firmware engineering, and user experience design. Together, we are going to build cutting-edge prototypes and create next generation of eye tracking technologies that can define a paradigm shift in how we interact with our surroundings. Responsibilities

• Build, nurture and lead a healthy team by providing guidance, mentorship and support to software engineers with ML, CV, and systems backgrounds
• Collaborate in a team environment across multiple scientific and engineering disciplines, making the architectural tradeoffs required to rapidly deliver software solutions
• Perform architectural, design and code reviews that improve software engineering quality
• Create career development plans and manage performance of a talented team of software engineers
• Provide technical leadership for innovative, reliable, scalable and maintainable software solutions
  

Minimum Qualification

• BS degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 2+ years of experience managing software engineers
• Proven track record of professional software development, including shipping one or more products on large code bases of platforms and tools
• Demonstrated proficiency in C++, algorithm design, low level computer architecture, software design, and analyzing computational complexity
• Proven track record of working across disciplines to drive solutions through effective communication and building consensus
  

Preferred Qualification

• Experience with tracking devices, such as OptiTrack sensors
• Experience in 3D graphics, including technologies such as DirectX, Vulkan, or OpenGL
• Experience in Computer Vision
• Experience in game engines such as Unreal and Unity
• Experience in machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, Caffe2 or TensorFlow
• Proficiency in MATLAB
