Machinist 1 - 2nd shift:

  • Responsibilities include assignment planning, layout, set-up, operating and making tool adjustments for a variety of major conventional or automatic machines. Works from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions. Checks and inspects machining operations against specified tolerances. May identify and repair minor machine malfunctions.
  • Primary Responsibility:
  • Responsibilities include assignment planning, layout, set-up, operating and making tool adjustments for a variety of major conventional or automatic machines. Works from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions. Checks and inspects machining operations against specified tolerances. May identify and repair minor machine malfunctions.


  • Intermediate Level (2):
  • Skill: Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.
  • Job Complexity: Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice.
  • Supervision: Normally follows established procedures on routine work; requires instructions only on new assignments.
  • Experience & Education: Requires machine shop experience, ability to add and subtract decimals. 1-2 years of related experience.


CNC Machinist 2

  • Job Description Summary
  • Responsible for operating CNC equipment to fabricate parts. Loads parts in machines, cycles machines, and detects malfunctions in machine operations such as worn or damaged tools. Runs production lots. Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management. Performs inspection of machined products including documentation of results. Maintains appropriate paperwork for various parts.
  • Senior Level (3):
  • Skill: Has substantial understanding of the job, and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks.       
  • Job Complexity: Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
  • Supervision: Normally receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments.
  • Experience & Education: Requires machine shop experience, ability to utilize complicated drawings and specifications, advanced mathematics, a variety of precision measuring instruments and trade knowledge equivalent to training in a formal apprenticeship program. 2-4 years of related experience.  


CNC Machinist 3 -2nd Shift:


  • Primary Responsibility:
  • Responsible for operating CNC equipment to fabricate parts. Loads parts in machines, cycles machines, and detects malfunctions in machine operations such as worn or damaged tools. Runs production lots. Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management. Performs inspection of machined products including documentation of results. Maintains appropriate paperwork for various parts.

  • Skill: As a skilled specialist, completes tasks in creative and effective ways.  
  • Job Complexity: Works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions.
  • Supervision: Determine methods and procedures on new assignments. May provide guidance to other nonexempt personnel.
  • Experience & Education: Requires machine shop experience, comprehensive knowledge and understanding of higher mathematics involved in the application of engineering principles and the performance of related operations, and completion of a formal apprenticeship program. 4–6 years of related experience

  • With the addition of adding a night shift in the machine shop and in weld, we will need a working lead to help with technical questions and help support both areas.
  • Managing the day to day production schedules and personnel in the Machine Shop and Welding areas. Develops machine shop and weld procedures in coordination with company standards and objectives. Oversees and assures the set up and operation of all machines and welding. Prioritizes and maintains work schedules based on production deadlines and ensures deadlines are met. Monitors and achieves levels of output against agreed targets by exercising control of all machining and welding operations.
  • Assignment planning, layout, set-up, operating and making machine adjustments as needed. Works from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks which may include the fabrication of tooling to assist in one off assemblies. If needed, checks and inspects machining and weld operations against specified tolerances.
  • Skill: As a highly skilled specialist, contributes to the development of concepts and techniques. Completes complex tasks in creative and effective ways.  
  • Job Complexity: Consistently works on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues. Makes recommendations for new procedures.
  • Supervision: Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments. Often leads or supervises the activities of other nonexempt personnel.
  • Experience & Education: Requires machine shop and or weld experience, comprehensive knowledge and understanding of higher mathematics involved in the application of engineering principles and the performance of related operations, and completion of a formal apprenticeship program. 10+ years of related experience
