GIGXR is a startup that uses mixed reality to drive training outcomes in healthcare, saving costs and saving lives. Our customers are medical and nursing schools, hospitals, the US Department of Defense and higher education. We work closely with app development partners in some of the most famous research and government institutions in the world to build exciting new innovations in mixed reality training.
Our XR Platform for instructor led medical training includes:
- An XR Application Delivery Platform for medical training apps in a SaaS business model
- A growing Catalogue of XR Healthcare training applications on the Platform
- World class partnerships like the US DOD and Cambridge University that drive growth in APPs on the platform.
GIGXR is looking for a UI/UX designer to work on the new XR apps creating user flows, wireframes, mockups, prototypes and graphics for the innovative applications. We're looking for people who have a start-up mentality: people who are creative, eager to learn and inventive, who can help us launch innovative products with amazing user interfaces and very intuitive experience flow. You should love the eXtended Reality (XR) realm wanting to dive into all things AR/VR/MR.
Position
This role of the UI/UX designer will be to produce fantastic UI/UX for both the 2D and 3D world! All of this while navigating through technical obstacles and continually prototyping Figma, Adobe XD and Unity. A successful applicant will have a comprehension of user experience principles, user research, prototyping as well as develop guidelines for consistent implementation of the UI/UX directions across all the apps on multiple platforms.
Job Responsibilities
- Design user flows, wireframes, and mockups at both a high level as well as building out refined details.
- Responsible for envisioning, prototyping, and implementing the user experience and user interface.
- Identify design problems and create clever solutions.
- Effectively conceptualize UX designs and detailed interaction behaviors across platforms/devices.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of developers and product managers to help define priorities; wireframing concepts and mockups; scheduling the development of solutions with developers.
- Ability to completely own high-level projects from start to finish.
- Continuously refresh job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art tools and technologies.
Technical Skills/Qualifications
- 5+ years experience as a UX/UI Designer.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject such as Graphic Design, Game Design, HCI, Computer Science, or a related or similar field.
- Deep understanding of the UX principles and their application in web and mobile devices.
- Experience designing assets for mobile platforms (Android, iOS and desktop).
- Knowledge of Figma, Sketch, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and XD or equivalent pipeline
- Resourcefulness, diligence, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving skills.
- Experience with prototyping in Unity
Nice-to-have Skills
- Experience with UI/UX design for XR headsets.
- 1+ year experience working with Unity.
- Experience with versioning tools like Git, Sourcetree etc.
- Experience with 3D software such as Maya or 3Ds Max.
- Experience with prototyping in 3D with tools like Microsoft Maquette or Tvori
