Advanced learning technology such as Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Reality (VAMR) can improve Air Combat Command’s formal training programs and “bring the future faster.” This position will fall under the contract program manager for business reporting purposes but will report directly to the combatant command on all issues related to the research, development, and integration of technical advancements. The primary work location and offices will be within Langley AFB, Virginia.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Working for the IPA/TL, the ISD will assist in the research and development of VAMR and other new technology training into USAF training curriculum. The ISD duties include (but are not be limited to):

·      Integration of disparate and diverse technologies.

·      Develops synthetic task environments for research studies.

·      Evaluates off the shelf game-based technologies to determine military efficacy.

·      Works with VAMR hardware and software development kits.

·      Evaluates VAMR hardware and software modeling and simulation.

·      Provides technology integration advice to leadership and decision makers.

·      Provides on-site VAMR familiarization training at ACC formal training units.

·      Collaborates with VAMR content creators and developers across the DoD.

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

·      BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or

≥5 years of full-time employment in a related industry).

·      Experience working with VAMR technology.

·      Experience with Unity3D and Unreal engines.

·      Familiarity with common programming languages such as C#, C++, Java, and Python.

·      Familiarity with common source control systems such as Git.

·      Familiarity with localization technologies and their applications.

·      Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET Security Clearance.

·      Willingness and ability to travel extensively across CONUS.


Preferred Qualifications and Skills

·      Experience working with USAF or DoD training programs.

·      Experience with Computer-based 3D modeling and simulation.

·      Experience with game design and development.

·      Experience with database creation, data capture methods, and data analytics.

·      Familiarity with mobile platforms and application development (IOS/Android/Etc.).

·      A currently active DoD SECRET Security Clearance.


Security Responsibilities

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

·      Work in a regular office environment; communicate via personal computer, telephone  and fax.

·      Must be physically able to enter and egress simulator.

·      Must be able to stand up and conduct academic instruction in classrooms for up to six hours

each day.

·      Domestic and international travel as required.
