The firm has recently partnered with the Stanford Center for Professional Development, a part of the Office of the Vice Provost, for Teaching and Learning at Stanford University to deliver a VDC Certification Program for the AEC industry.

In this role, you will:

Prospecting

Outbound

  • Create target prospect lists and penetrate key accounts
  • Use available tools and research skills to develop repeatable outbound prospecting strategies
  • Be responsible for educating and developing outbound prospects leading to hand-off to sales teams

Inbound

  • Follow-up on inbound marketing leads and identify qualified opportunities providing appropriate levels of information at the right time for interested prospects
  • Be responsible for educating and developing inbound prospects leading to hand-off to sales teams
  • Manage inbound calendar 

 

Operational Rigor

  • Track all relevant qualification and lead management activity using Salesforce.com
  • Ensure successful follow-through of sales cycle by maintaining accurate activity and lead qualification information in CRM application
  • Profile high opportunity accounts identifying key individuals, researching and obtaining business requirements, and presenting solutions to start the sales cycle
  • Report to Sales Leadership (weekly/monthly/quarterly) sales results. KPIs include daily outbound calls and emails, meetings set up, opportunities generated and qualified

 

Role Development

  • Contribute to the creation and improvement of BDR playbook that we will follow as we grow our team
  • Define industry-specific messaging and collateral materials that effectively communicate the VIATechnik value proposition
  • Contribute to and refine pitch deck that will be baseline for intro calls broken out by type of service offering
  • Provide ongoing feedback on role functions to ensure role is set up for maximum success

 

Handover

  • Research and share key information with sales team about companies in advance of meetings scheduled
  • Disseminate opportunities to appropriate salesperson upon reaching discovery information collection targets, educating them as necessary about the opportunity
  • Set appointments for sales team when a lead reaches a qualified stage

 

Business Development Specialist Role Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree
  • Construction industry experience
  • 2-3 years of experience in a quota carrying front end sales position
  • Experience with outreach such as cold calling and emailing
  • Experience creating prospecting strategies from scratch and driving execution
  • Exception written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management and organization skills
  • Previous experience using Salesforce or similar CRM tool

 

Even Better Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communication or a related field
