The Manufacturing/Operations Manager will execute production activities in manufacturing areas and meet production goals, quality and cost objectives. You will prioritize production schedules, identify and implement efficiency tactics, monitor material supply, forecast and production ramp planning. You will maintain budgets and make budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor. We are seeking an individual who will select and develop personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the production function, develop schedules and requirements for assigned areas, and focus on the development of employees along their career paths. The ideal candidate is a critical thinker, detail-oriented, makes data driven decisions, and has a proven track record in continuous improvement and sustainment.   • Determine how to use resources to meet schedules and goals after receiving assignments in the form of objectives; Act as advisor to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems 
  • Work on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends 
  • Follow processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions 
  • Develop and administer schedules and performance requirements 
  • Provide guidance to subordinates and lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team 
  • Be responsible for results, including costs, methods and staffing 

 

What will you bring to the team, along with your curiosity is:  


  • A Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent 
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of related experience 
  • Industrial Engineering background 
  • Precision optics manufacturing and thin-film coating experience 
  • Lean manufacturing experience/continuous flow background 
  • SAP (or other ERP) experience 
  • Focus on driving financial results by identifying inefficiencies and correcting them 
  • Promotion, implementation, and reporting of continual improvement activities 
  • Scrap reduction/yield improvement/hidden factory identification and improvement 
  • Capacity analyses and monitoring of daily workcell output 
  • Identifies training gaps and schedules cross training to assure flexibility to the schedule 
  • Single point of failure (SPOF) identification and risk mitigation 
  • Works well in cross-functional teams, such as with maintenance, planning, and engineering 
  • Communicates frequently with internal customers 
  • Appreciation for upholding documented processes
