Job Description

Position: Unreal Engine 4 Developer

Groove Jones, a world-renowned and award-winning studio specializing in Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and Interactive Entertainment technologies, is currently looking for an Unreal Engine Developer for an immersive experience project using the Virtual Production pipeline in Unreal Engine. The ideal candidate will come with extensive Unreal experience. They will work within our development team to build experiences in the VR and AR space.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Help create VR and AR interactive experiences for HMD’s, iOS devices, and Android devices
• Take creative concepts and design software solutions for them
• Serve as the creative lead for Unreal development pipelines and projects.
• Vet and utilize the latest APIs, SDKs, or other tools with Unreal to enhance the quality of the production
• Work with the lead developer to define the project organization
• Iterate quickly to find the best systems for creating amazing gameplay
• Lead optimization efforts to maintain VR spec framerate
• Responsible for making builds and ensuring there is always a backup of working builds
• When not working on a project, create reusable pieces of code to enhance core technology libraries and features for future projects
• Write UE4 blueprints using C++

Qualifications

• Mid to senior-level development experience with at least 3-5 years experience at an Interactive shop, agency, or game studio primarily using Unreal Engine 4 
• Deep understanding of Unreal Engine 4 software and best practices
• Comfortable with adapting to and improving art asset pipelines
• Understanding of lighting workflows in Unreal Engine
• Past experience working in AR/VR space
• The position requires a dynamic person that thrives in a fast-paced environment. 
• Has knowledge of optimization and deployment to mobile devices
• The ideal candidate would have an excellent understanding of mobile, digital and interactive space. 
• Experience with the latest Virtual production pipelines with Unreal Engine is a huge plus.
