We are looking for a skilled and motivated Mechatronics Engineer to join our team, whose mission is to develop and prototype state of the art mechanisms, software and solutions for next generation AR and VR devices that can create transformative experiences. We are specifically looking for a candidate with experience in micro scale devices or with high speed flows and can work with a team of researchers exploring a wide range of solutions combining electrical, mechanical, robotics, embedded, and desktop software components. More broadly, the chosen candidate will work with a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers and will have access to cutting edge technology, resources, and testing facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Conceptualize, model and drive the build and test of prototypes of novel electromechanical systems.
  • Designing, assembling, testing, debugging, and integrating designs into electro-mechanical systems using industry-standard design packages.
  • Develop mechanisms, control algorithms, and mathematical models.
  • Collaborating in a team environment across multiple engineering disciplines while managing a wide variety of stakeholders and driving process definition.
  • Plan and execute cutting-edge research to improve human-computer interaction and create new ways to control AR devices.
Minimum Qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or related areas.
  • 6+ (can include academic and industrial) years of experience developing electronics, mechatronics, microfluidics and/or MEMS.
  • Experience with use of oscilloscopes, high speed digital test equipment, logic analyzers, function generators, and mechanical/electrical schematics using CAD software.
  • Cross disciplinary experience defining system architectures encompassing compute, EE, sensors, calibration, and firmware from initial conception through prototyping.
Preferred Qualification
  • 3+ years of experience in a programming language such as C++ (or C), MATLAB, Python.
  • Experience with LabVIEW systems.
  • Experience with rapid prototyping tools and methods.
  • Experience with microfluidics systems.
  • Master or PhD in relevant discipline (electrical engineering, mechatronics engineering, microsystems engineering, mechanical engineering, robotics and others).
