As a founding member of Oculus’ Collaboration, Productivity, Work, and general purpose computing experiences related content efforts, you will work with the most creative and innovative developers, creators and publishers in VR and AR. You will help VR/AR developers build non-game applications that enable people to create, consume, collaborate in ways that further productive pursuits or economic outcomes. This will include emerging VR categories such as meetings, creative tools, design tools, business apps and as yet unimagined experiences. This is a zero to one opportunity to work on pre-product market fit ideas and create and implement strategies and plans to bring products to market in collaboration with external developers, stakeholders, or partners.You will have a front row seat to emerging trends and the opportunity to craft an investment thesis that drives results. You will have a compelling vision for where the AR/VR industry is headed and apply that to inflect the ecosystem. You will lead the diligence of and investment in promising concepts and work closely with developers and publishers to deliver awesome experiences for VR consumers. You will work with early-stage founders, help them build a profitable, sustainable company. You believe deeply in the value of VR as a new medium for immersive productivity, collaboration, work, and general purpose computing experiences. You’re observant and versed on what makes VR product design and development different. You have a great eye to identify the right partner fits from the development community. You thrive in (re)connecting with the world’s best founders and developers to land an ongoing stream of high-profile application releases on the Oculus Platform.

Responsibilities
  • Create an investment strategy and execute on the thesis to find promising use cases and product market fit for AR/VR apps for Productivity, Collaboration, Work, and general purpose computing experiences
  • Reach out to external developers to find strong products and partners
  • establish the relationships, lead the diligence and investments in promising concepts that will result in a pipeline of products launched on the Oculus Platform
  • Work closely with product management teams to land the Oculus strategy for collaboration and productivity applications
  • Craft and lead programs that inflect the ecosystem as a whole and enable the creation of a profitable and sustainable ecosystem
  • Evangelize new and existing VR technologies with developers to ensure they are able to take full advantage of ongoing enhancements and improvements
  • Work cross-functionally with internal product, store, engineering, policy, legal, marketing, and PR teams to launch non-game applications for businesses and consumers
  • Can travel frequently for partner meetings, domestically and internationally (post COVID-19)
Minimum Qualification
  • 6+ years of product management, business development, partnerships and/or publishing experience within the games, media, entertainment, SaaS, productivity & collaboration apps, electronics, technology/platforms, early-stage internet/consumer technology companies
  • Experience structuring, negotiating, and maintaining significant and complex strategic relationships
  • Proven experience collaboratively creating a program and budget, then communicating/defending the program definition/concept
  • Demonstrated experience with data-driven decision-making
  • Experience building partnerships across multiple internal cross functional groups and external developers
  • Strategic thinker with experience balancing and prioritizing short-term solutions while keeping the long-term vision in mind
  • BA or BS degree
Preferred Qualification
  • Experience initiating and cultivating meaningful relationships within the AR/VR industry, entrepreneurial and investment communities
  • Experience crafting investment memos and diligence analysis, at a venture capital, private equity, or corporate venture fund
  • Experience in product management at internet/consumer technology companies
  • Experience of working with early stage companies and founders to help them find product market fit
  • Experience with IP licensing, media production and development, market analysis and research
  • Experience compellingly articulating the reasons VR is the most exciting medium partners can develop for
  • Familiarity with various computing, mobile, gaming consoles and their content/app store offerings
