At Facebook Reality Labs, we’re developing the future of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) and looking for a world-class Program Manager to join the Display Team. You’ll be a critical member of the Display team, identifying long term trends, driving the design process, removing barriers to enable your team’s success, communicating progress to all stakeholders and ensuring the big picture stays in focus while delving into the details on specific technical issues. Ideal team members are adaptable and resilient, eager to tackle unfamiliar situations with curiosity and tenacity, while able to inspire and influence team members at different levels of experience. Display TPMs must excel in many areas including communication, organization, strategic planning and technical understanding which will lead to providing customers with the best user-experience in the industry for AR/VR products.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with display engineering team on development activities which includes long range strategic planning for display and silicon, optical architecture definition, and NPI to mass production execution.
  • Operates at different levels of ambiguity, from high-level strategic planning (technology selection, organizational structure, commercial partnerships, investment) to tactical project management (prioritization, schedule creation, milestone definition and execution, and deliverables management).
  • Breakdown the complexity of deep technical programs to enable a clear understanding of scope and deliverables to a wide audience of team members.
  • Act as the main channel of communication in key formal discussions that involve technical team leaders, cross functional and external partners, and other members of the organization. Lead program milestone reviews and present project status to the executive team.
  • Establish the product development plan, drive the execution, and manage the day-to-day activities of the program.
  • Identify resources needed and work closely with team leaders to maintain full visibility of the project schedule and potential roadblocks.
  • Evaluate suppliers’ capabilities to meet product requirements, partner with the Ops team to establish a robust and scalable supply chain strategy.
  • Lead product development activities to specify, procure, measure, and build advanced display & optics components and assemblies for AR/VR displays.
  • Proactively identify technical, procedural, logistical, and communication issues and drive creative solutions to address them and manage risk.
  • Be able to travel internationally up to 15% of the time.
Minimum Qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, materials science, or a similar field.
  • 3+ years as a technical program manager (or related role) leading complex display development programs.
  • Experience leading and partnering with Asian-based vendors and contract manufacturers.
  • Experience with new product introduction (NPI) and technology transfer best practice and tools.
  • Experience leading teams through a phased product development lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, shipping and ramping product into high volume manufacturing.
  • Experience communicating technical information to non-experts, at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience building, coordinating, and maintaining schedules across multiple teams, and managing shared resources to lead successful technology development programs.
  • Experience motivating, influencing, and resolving conflict amongst a cross-functional team.
  • Communication skills with experience synthesizing information into the most concise points to move a team/initiative forward.
Preferred Qualification
  • Experience in display (LCD/OLED) applications in high volume consumer electronics products.
  • Experience in display module quality control.
  • Experience in display DDIC development.
  • Understanding of AR/VR display technology and AR/VR devices.
