Our Facebook Reality Labs (FRL) organization brings together world-class experts to develop and ship groundbreaking products at the intersection of hardware, software, and platform. We plan to release multiple products over the next few years. In particular, we are building technologies or seemingly impossible products that define new categories that advance Facebook's mission of bringing the world closer together.We're seeking a researcher for the VR hardware platform portion of the FRL Marketing Insights team, who demonstrates remarkable ability to harness and translate strategic insights into actionable product marketing plans and strategies. This role will also help inform hardware and feature strategy, drive understanding of the VR portfolio, improve product market fit, execute go-to-market plans, support creative development, and ultimately create more value for consumers. The ideal candidate will have exceptional research skills across qualitative and quantitative research, proven hands-on experience as practitioner and leader, a hunger to drive significant business impact/outcomes, and an interest to remain deeply engaged in the execution of work. The ability to create strong cross-functional partnerships with marketing and products teams is critical, and a passion for technology and Facebook is a must.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with marketing, analytics, UXR and product teams to understand competitive landscape, consumer needs and behaviors, define target audiences, improve product market fit, and unearth future-forward market opportunities to achieve business objectives.
  • Translate data insights into actions and recommendations, including storytelling ability to weave together narrative from multiple sources of data (primary, secondary, etc.).
  • Influence decision-making and product planning through highly effective communication with all levels of stakeholders, including leadership.
  • Develop and ensure cross-functional alignment on research roadmaps and learning plans.
Minimum Qualification
  • 6+ years of experience in marketing/market research or product research.
  • 2+ years of experience in product innovations research and/or consumer electronics/hardware research.
  • Experience designing and executing quantitative and qualitative research solutions, at both the product and brand level.
  • Experience in a variety of quantitative and qualitative research methods. Experience running analysis independently, knows how/when to utilize a CHAID versus a logistic regression, various ways to create segmentations.
  • Experience engaging with product, marketing/communications, and other researchers like UXR and Data Science.
  • Experience translating data insights into actions and recommendations. Supporting insights, guiding marketing and communications strategy and plans, at both a brand and product level, but will also include new product development and definition.
Preferred Qualification
  • Knowledge of and experience researching AR/VR or other emerging technologies.
  • Experience with quickly scaling and prioritizing activities, drive change and collaborate effectively with a variety of partners in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Communication and presentation skills. Experience using insights to influence executives and colleagues.
