The Facebook Reality Labs (FRL) team at Facebook builds the AR/VR hardware and platform to let you experience anything, anywhere, with anyone. Additionally, Facebook has teams dedicated to building social experiences in AR/VR that make it easier to spend time with your friends, wherever they are. Augmented/Virtual reality’s potential to connect the world is immense—and we’re just getting started. Our Technical Operations team has the responsibility for evaluating technologies and identifying supply chain solutions that allow FRL to deliver products to market at scale. We are seeking a Software Test Engineering Manager to lead a diverse technical team and drive the development and deployment of FRL software test platform with manufacturing partners and third-party integrators. The Software test engineering team is responsible for developing software solutions and methodologies to perform device provisioning, system validation, calibration and testing of FRL products.This individual should have deep technical knowledge, hands-on experience, and the ability to discuss and apply technical solutions to business challenges. A successful candidate is comfortable seeking out and interacting closely with project stakeholders across the company.

Responsibilities
  • Lead teams responsible for the design, deployment, and continuous, on-call support of secure manufacturing systems, test software, data sources, data engineering, and end-user enablement.
  • Define and execute on the product roadmap and strategy to support business and engineering for all of FRL’s manufacturing needs.
  • Build and maintain strong business relationships with business leaders, provide engineering and support strategies that meet business goals.
  • Collaborate with third party test integrators in designing, developing and fabricating test systems.
  • Work closely with OS, FW, hardware test, data engineering teams to ensure application environments and infrastructures are built and closely optimized for each other in a requirements-driven approach.
  • Oversee Software rollout and validation of Software releases at manufacturing partners, and ensure comprehensive documentation.
  • Integrate security into all layers of the environment in order to protect sensitive data stored on systems at third party sites and in cloud environments.
  • Ensure excellent support, stability and maximum uptime for manufacturing systems and network infrastructure across globally dispersed sites and cloud environments.
  • Be responsible for teams’ productivity and have ability to seek out areas of improvement in tools, software frameworks, and processes that you can implement to make the team more productive.
  • Up to 20% domestic and international travel required.
Minimum Qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant computer science field
  • 10+ years of people management experience, managing direct reports, building a team through continual coaching and career growth opportunities
  • Experience in test automation and test frameworks to enable comprehensive test coverage
  • Experience in data engineering, data analysis/visualization, database design, machine learning
  • Experience in C/C++ and Python coding and debug
  • Cross platform development experience using Windows/Linux/Arm Embedded/Android
  • Understanding of fundamental considerations of building hardware in development and volume production stages
  • Experience in developing solutions in both Linux and Windows environments
  • Experience in designing and executing development projects with a design of experiment approach (DOE) to service, troubleshoot, and solve engineering problems
  • Experience in developing software that interfaces and controls hardware devices over USB/serial/network/PCIE, etc.
  • Experience with domestic and/or international consumer electronics vendors and supply chain
  • Proven experience introducing and qualifying manufacturing test solutions to production facilities
  • Experience with and success navigating IT logistical and technical challenges in China
Preferred Qualification
  • Knowledge of statistical process control, probabilistic prediction, machine learning, deep learning
  • Knowledge of cryptography concepts, asymmetric cryptography, signing
  • Demonstrated experience defining, developing, and troubleshooting manufacturing test issues
  • APAC regional management experience
