The Facebook Reality Labs Product Marketing team is seeking an experienced Product Marketing Manager who is passionate about marketing innovative VR games and content. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the product marketing of Oculus’ first party VR games and content (e.g. Beat Saber, Onward, Lone Echo). You will influence product development and help define the VR content portfolio by representing the point of view of the user and market data. You will lead the go-to-market strategy and planning process, creating breakthrough promotions and narratives for new experiences while leveraging the growing Oculus content portfolio to delight and retain users.

The right person has a passion for the next generation of gaming, is analytical, an incredible storyteller, strategist, and marketer who can effectively lead both strategy and execution. This product marketing team is focused on the inbound phase of product marketing as well as establishing the go-to-market strategy to inform outbound marketing with internal partners. Inbound product marketing responsibilities include up front analysis to identify market needs by segment, opportunity and audience sizing, product positioning and key messaging, content portfolio strategy, data and market analysis, and being the “point of view of the user.”

This role will be deeply embedded with the game production team but represent the perspective of marketing and point of view of the consumer within product development. Strong cross-functional leadership is essential. Responsibilities
  • Lead the product marketing for one or more of our first party studios titles to grow the VR audience through the c<![CDATA[Facebook
    • Lead the product marketing for one or more of our first party studios titles to grow the VR audience through the creation, acquisition and promotion of compelling games and services.
    • Create go-to-market strategies and growth marketing campaigns in partnership with product management and outbound marketing partners to successfully launch new content offerings and product features.
    • Leverage quantitative and qualitative data, and user insights to influence product development and strategy, and inform positioning, go-to-market plans, creative assets, and campaigns.
    • Partner with product leadership to define short and long term product strategy and build an effective Studios marketing model.
    • Balance creative and analytical thinking to put forth best-in-class marketing plans within a measurable and data-driven framework.
    • Consistently build strong internal partnerships, influence through others, resolve conflict, build alignment, and work effectively across teams to execute strategy.
Minimum Qualification
  • 6+ years of games marketing or product marketing experience, with demonstrable experience to bring the ‘point of view of the user’ into product development and represent products in platform brand campaigns
  • Experience creating business briefs and go-to-market strategies and plans, including audience definition, positioning statements and clearly defined value propositions
  • Track record of successfully bringing new products to market
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Communication and problem solving capabilities across functions (e.g., creative teams, legal, policy, marketing, partnerships, ops)
  • Effectiveness working independently in a fast-paced and fluid environment, with the experience adapting, spotting issues early, and escalating
  • Experience creating breakthrough moments at industry events such as E3, PAX, Gamescom, or others
  • Experience conducting/leveraging competitive and market research to garner insights that help drive strategic decisions and product roadmaps – from market assessment and quantitative analysis to positioning
  • Interest in gaming
Preferred Qualification
  • 3+ years experience as a people manager
  • Experience managing studios and brands inside of bigger companies
  • MBA degree
  • Interest for and understanding of Virtual Reality
  • Track record of helping to build products that achieve product-market fit
  • Experience building and marketing games with live services
