Facebook Reality Labs (FRL) Sensors Team is helping build novel products in Augmented and Virtual Reality. Facebook AR/VR research in Motion Sensing Hardware and Software is driving the state-of-the-art forward through relentless innovation. Our team explores, develops, and delivers new cutting-edge technologies that serve as the foundation of current and future AR/VR products at Facebook. We are looking for candidates with experience in Motion Sensor Design, Signal Processing, and Machine Learning to assist with the development of novel hardware and software systems within the FRL Sensors Team, while collaborating with experts across multiple domains.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with other researchers and engineers across Facebook to develop novel hardware and software products that advance the state-of-the-art in AR/VR systems and wearables
  • Collaborate with internal and external research, design, and engineering teams to develop next generation sensor technologies
  • Work with the team to help design, setup, and run practical experiments related to sensor systems
Minimum Qualification
  • PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineer, or related fields
  • 3+ years experience in design and development of Microelectromechanical System (MEMS) Sensors such as Gyroscopes, Accelerometers, Pressure Sensors, Microphones or Ultrasonic Transducers
  • Experience in developing signal processing algorithms in C/C++, MATLAB or Python
  • Experience developing front-end electronics for MEMS Sensors
  • Experience in bring-up, debug, and testing of MEMS Sensors using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers
  • Experience in modeling MEMS Sensors using software platforms such as MATLAB, COMSOL, and ANSYS
Preferred Qualification
  • Experience in implementing modern Machine Learning algorithms for sensor systems
  • Experience in developing embedded systems using C/C++, VHDL, or Verilog
  • Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by patents or first-authored publications
  • Familiarity with the emerging Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality technologies
