Facebook Reality Labs bring together world-class experts to develop and ship groundbreaking products at the intersection of hardware, software, and content. We have a clear mandate to ship products at scale. In particular, seemingly impossible products that define new categories that advance Facebook's mission of connecting the world. FRL is currently seeking a Camera Color Engineer to help research and develop color management, camera color reproduction, display color calibration algorithms and color perception modeling for AR/VR products.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement color management in AR/VR products
- Improve and optimize camera color capture and processing pipeline
- Explore the application of color technology on AR/VR through modeling, simulations, psychophysical experiments and prototypes
- Develop ambient light sensor and color sensing technologies for consumer products
- Support and lead technology development and productization
- Work with cross-functional teams and provide strong leadership and expertise for new project developments
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor degree in imaging science, color science, optics, image processing, or a related field
- 5+ years experience in imaging or color science research and development
- Understanding of camera or display color processing pipeline
- Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: MATLAB, Python, C/C++
Preferred Qualification
- Ph.D. in imaging science, color science, optics, image processing, vision, computer graphics or a related field
- Experience in of color science, image processing, computer vision and AR/VR rendering
- Experience in developing color management system in multimedia applications
- Experience with light sensor, image sensor, camera and display hardware systems
- Exposure to metrology, perceptual modeling, psychophysics and data analysis
