Bargaining Unit/Salary Range: MEA Faculty; $40,899.63 - $54,965.68 dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities: Eastern Maine Community College is looking to fill a full-time Computer Technology Faculty position to begin August 16, 2021. The chosen candidate will teach 15 credits of on-campus and/or on-line undergraduate courses in Computer Science for students matriculated into the degree program. The person in this position will also be expected to provide effective instruction, advise students, develop curriculum, and participate in campus committees. Provides credit and non-credit training intended to address the need for skilled workers for Maine’s emerging tech company industry and will include education and training for occupations such as coders, programmers, computer analysists, network specialists and computer user support specialists in emerging fields such as virtual reality and artificial intelligence.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and a minimum 3 years work experience in a computer related field or Maine teacher’s certification with an 823 or 827 endorsement and a minimum 5 years teaching. Desire and ability to motivate students. Willingness and ability to integrate technology and active student learning techniques (such as cooperative work groups, service learning, undergraduate research etc.) into teaching practice.

Preferred Qualifications: Related teaching/training experience at the college or high school level. Master’s degree, appropriate industry certification preferred and Hardware/Software support; database, coding, AR/VR experience.
