Job Description

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be a member of our Augmented Reality organization, working on AR module mechanical design, interface with the product development team, and work with the current and evolving ecosystem to provide differentiating capabilities to our HW platforms. You will be part of a tight-knit group of highly talented engineers at the forefront of innovation for our AR products.

The following are the high level job duties and responsibilities:

• • Development of tools and fixtures to support AR component metrology and testing.
  • Develop software interface (using Python, etc.) and control of the above tools and fixtures.
  • Design and develop 3D CAD (using SolidWorks, Creo, etc.) modeled mechanical prototypes for the systems along with creating 2D drawings using GD&T principles.
  • Design, build-up, integration and control of electromechanical test systems for AR products.
  • Design, develop and build test systems for lens datum measurements and defects inspection/detection.
  • Implement DFMA & tolerance stack-up to optimize cost and ensure successful transition from lab setup to production.
  • Implement FEA (structural, thermal, modal) to overcome potential critical failures within the system at early stages.
  • Debug failure and perform root cause analysis.
  • Work on the AR related mechanical design including 3D model generation with product development team, including touch and/or optical subcomponents.
  • Work with cross-functional teams in AR manufacturing process optimization.
