The Facebook Reality Labs Product Marketing team is seeking a Product Marketing Manager who is passionate about building and marketing innovative social VR products and experiences that inspire meaningful human connection, creation, and self expression.

This position will join a team responsible for product marketing of social experiences in VR, focused on creating and marketing cross-platform products and services that form a bridge from Facebook's family of apps into our emerging VR platform, enhancing remote presence and expanding human connection across all realities. This Product Marketing Manager will be focused on the future of the avatar platform across the Facebook's family of apps, player value and reward systems, and growth of avatar performances in Horizon. Our ideal candidate is analytical and creative, with ability to transition between tactical project work as well as strategic influence with product leaders.

This product marketing team is focused on the inbound phase of product marketing and the strategy that informs outbound marketing with internal partners. Inbound product marketing responsibilities include foundational analysis to identify market needs by segment, opportunity sizing, gathering deep feedback from internal and external stakeholders, and being the “point of view of the user” within the product team. This role will be deeply embedded with the product team but represent the perspective of marketing and point of view of the consumer within product development. Outbound product marketing responsibilities are leading go to market strategy and process across business functions throughout the full product life cycle and customer journey.

Responsibilities
  • Identify opportunities, and represent the point of view of the market, by conducting industry and market research, including deep quantitative, qualitative, audience segmentation and competitive analysis.
  • Partner with user research, market research, and data science to identify quantitative and qualitative insights to influence avatar product strategy and inform Facebook go-to-market plans, creative assets, and campaigns across Facebook family of apps.
  • Partner effectively with various internal stakeholders across Facebook family of apps to lead go to market strategies for avatars across all surfaces.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the broader VR ecosystem and competitive landscape to develop strategic product feedback, positioning and messaging.
  • Manage comprehensive, cross-functional activities including betas, positioning, policy, and product documentation for avatars.
Minimum Qualification
  • 6+ years of marketing or product experiences, with experience to bring the 'point of view of the user' into product development
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Consumer marketing experience
  • Communication experience across functions (e.g., creative teams, legal, policy, marketing, partnerships, ops)
  • Experience working closely with product teams
  • Experience creating market requirement documents, including audience definition, positioning statements and clearly defined value propositions
  • Experience working with or running user and market research, and applying research insights to product development
  • Analytical and problem-solving experience
  • Experience managing agencies for daily workstreams and creative deliverables as well as working with marketing cross-functional teams, including creative, research, analytics, and media
Preferred Qualification
  • MBA degree
  • Experience working on avatars, virtual identity products, and UGC platforms
  • Track record of helping to build products across multiple platforms
  • Effectiveness working independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and fluid environment, with experience in adapting, spotting early issues and escalating
  • Balance of creative and analytic thinking, putting forth best-in-class execution within a measurable and data-driven framework
  • Understanding of Virtual or Augmented reality
