THE JOB, IN A NUTSHELL

Building multiple augmented-reality experiences for sports teams, for use by millions of sports fans. The AR experiences you build with us could go into the mobile apps of NFL clubs, NBA teams, English Premiere League clubs, MLS clubs, Australian Rules Football clubs, and more.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

This posting is for a Unity/Augmented-Reality Developer position.

The ideal candidate for this role is a problem solver with strong programming skills, a strong work ethic, and a strong grasp of C# and Unity. As a Unity/AR Developer, you will need to design and build mobile games, mobile AR (augmented reality) experiences, and other interactive experiences, and then use your skills and abilities to implement and enhance our family of mobile sports apps. The ideal candidate should be capable of working on multiple Unity development projects simultaneously, to deliver quickly (days or weeks), and to be able to hit the ground running.

THE DAY-TO-DAY

As a Unity/AR Developer,

  • You will be working to develop and prototype native games and AR experiences in Unity for iOS and Android apps for sports teams.
  • You will participating in the complete product life-cycle, including concept, requirements, design, build, deploy, test, and release to the App Store and to the Google Play Store.
  • You will work closely with the UI/UX and Backend teams in implementing various interactive features in our apps.
  • You will be responsible for writing high-quality code and using good programming practices in implementing various features and products.
  • You will be responsible for resolving bugs in your code.
  • You will be responsible for supporting the products that you build, during the time of peak usage (e.g., games).

THE REQUIREMENTS

  • In your job application, please share the details of a recent Unity project that you were involved, preferably one that is in production.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Expertise in working as a Unity or Unity3D Developer.
  • Expertise in C#.
  • Experience with game development and integrated game physics.
  • Experience with optimizing code for memory and space.
  • Experience with scripting, animation, textures, session management, GUI styles, etc.
  • Experience with mobile and console game development.
  • Experience with consuming backend APIs and familiarity with JSON, REST and XML.
  • Experience using Git for version control.
  • Willingness and ability to work the non-traditional hours of the sports industry.
  • NICE TO HAVE: Experience in building native iOS and Android apps.
  • NICE TO HAVE: Experience with UI/UX design, including the use of Sketch, Invision, and other design tools.
  • NICE TO HAVE: Familiarity with computer-vision algorithms and techniques.
